Just head over to to order yours now! Also check out our exclusive interview we did for Just Us Collective and find out more about the thinking behind the zine-

As a point of reference also, Macro Shrub One consisted of:- Myself illustrating, Jack Burston co-creator and writing badass doing all the... well writing of course! And we had as previously mentioned Daisy Wolff-Whitehouse doing the front cover, check her work out here- and the awesome typography was by Eurico Sa Fernandes who's work can be found here-

And don't forget this is only one out of 6 zines that will be coming this year, the next will be in march! It's going to be an awesome series and we're off to a strong start, make sure you don't miss out!

10 days until MACRO SHRUB #1 !!! Also I've already began on the epic sequel to Toastie-O ... you know that comic I've promised for the last two years which will be spread over an awesome two part special in Macro Shrub #2 and #3!! But let's not get too carried away, Issue One is very close and will only be released to a very short limited edition run of 40!!! This is because of the image below, Issue One's amazing screen printed front cover by Daisy Whitewolf!! (check out more of her awesome print work at ) I promise they look even more badass in real life print!!! Anyway enjoy, and remember only 10 more days to go!!!!

(Also keep your eyes peeled on our official melon shrub site- we've been adding interesting bits and bobs, atm it's currently the front cover, but this is where the zine will go live and be launched so get it bookmarked grud dammit!!! )

Hellboy sketch

Hey there! Still quiet on the content for 2012 so far (10 days until Macro Shrub #1 is launched though!!!) but here's a little fun drawing I did for James Howard's (@themooks) awesome #drawhellboy blog! ( - check it out some awesome pics from awesome illustrators up there! ) so anyway I was thinking about street fighter II at the time and I imagined Hellboy's particular handicap of a huge metal fist wouldn't make him very good at such a game......

2012- a new year / a new Macro

Hello everyone and murray christmas (ha) and a happy new year! So the festive season is coming to an end, and if you are like me you may have ingested far too much whiskey and now are walking into the new year of 2012 with tonsils the size of footballs! I wanted to just write a little informal note to say 2011 was a good year with myself and my illustrative efforts what with the becks beer bottles, dazeray exhibition in falmouth and field candy tent and of course the release of melon shrub 2! I got to meet and work alongside with a huge host of awesome creative people and was involved in many interesting publications and projects! So a big thank you to everyone who has supported me or been a fan of my work in the past 12 months, it's been a good one!

But 2011 is dead and we welcome in a new baby- 2012, and 2012 is going to be the most ambitious year yet! Me and melon shrub creator Jack Burston are producing a spin off mini series of 6 bi-monthly zines titled "Macro Shrub" throughout this year! These A5 black and white little beauties are going to be packed with original content and exclusive stuff! (Issue one has the newest and weirdest comic by me to date!) They'll also include guest additions as issue one has a fantastic screen printed front cover by Daisy Whitewolf and the accompanying typography for the zine is by the awesome Eurico Sa Fernandes! All this excitement and this is only for issue one! More news to be released before the launch, but keep your eyes peeled...
